NEW Continuing Education Requirements (effective July 1, 2014):
North Carolina licensees are required to take eight hours of continuing-education classes by June 10 of each year to remain on active status. Effective July 1, 2014, for Brokers and Provisional Brokers this includes the four-hour General Update and a four-hour elective of your choice. For Brokers-in-Charge this includes taking the new Broker-in-Charge Update (BICUP) course and a four-hour elective of your choice.
Brokers and Provisional Brokers: four-hour General Update + four-hour elective = eight CE hours
BICs and BIC-Eligible Brokers: four-hour BICUP + four-hour elective = eight CE hours
License Renewal Notice
All real estate licenses issued by the Commission expire on June 30. A recent law change requires that beginning this year, all broker licenses must be renewed online at www.ncrec.gov including payment of the $45 renewal fee. A broker who does not have the ability to renew online may renew by calling the Commission's office between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (919-875-3700).
Important: When renewing your license all BICs and BIC Eligible Brokers are asked to update their licensee record with their current email address and telephone number.
Mingle Transfer Policy: If you wish to cancel prior to class starting, you can transfer to another class once with full tuition credit within the same CE season (example: July 1, 2014 through June 10, 2015). We are unable to offer refunds.
