Dana Rhodes

Dana Rhodes teaches broker prelicensing, broker postlicensing and continuing education (CE) update and elective courses. He also enjoys tutoring students. On the national level, Rhodes is approved to teach several designation courses through NAR’s REBAC program, including the Accredited Buyer Representative courses (ABR) and the Green designation courses. Rhodes also teaches NAR's At Home With Diversity certification program and the Employer Assisted Housing program.  

Rhodes has a Masters Degree in Adult Education and has earned the Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI) designation from the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA). There are only 85 DREIs worldwide. In 2008, NAR appointed Rhodes to be a master instructor (an instructor who teaches instructors) for the Employer Assisted Housing program. He taught both the Employer Assisted Housing program and the train-the-trainer sessions at the 2008 NAR National Convention in Orlando, Fla. and NAR Midyear Convention in Washington, D.C. and continues to offer these programs every year.

In 2009, Rhodes was selected as the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association (NCREEA) Educator of the Year. In addition, the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC) presented Rhodes with the Billie J. Mercer Excellence in Education Award at its annual educators’ conference. The Billie J. Mercer award was established in memory of Mercer, a former chair of NCREC, for her service to the commission and her dedication to real estate education. Rhodes was also presented with the Educator of the Year Award from the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA) in Portland, Ore.

Rhodes started out in the real estate industry in 1983. He is an active broker and the owner of Unified Martial Arts, a training and consulting company. Rhodes has served on several committees and the board of directors for the local association, NC REALTORS®, NCREEA and REEA. Rhodes has written a number of articles on real estate, was a reviewer for Dearborn's Seventh Edition textbook and is an editor for Canopy Real Estate Institute's student notebook.  In 2019 REEA awarded Dana the Jack Wiedemer Distinguished Career Award that, according to the REEA Director, has only been awarded three or four times.

Rhodes was appointed to the Distinguished Real Estate Instructors (DREI) Leadership Council by the Real Estate Educators Association in 2018.
